Project Timeline

This is a general timeline of the process to construct a new terminal at Columbia Regional Airport. A green box and paper airplane indicates completed step. A purple box and paper airplane indicates the step is in progress. A blue box and paper airplane indicates future steps. Future event dates are only timeline place holders and do not represent an actual start/completion date. The timeline will be updated and future events will be updated with actual dates as they are known.

October 26, 2022 First full day of operations
October 19, 2022 Grand opening & ribbon cutting ceremony
July 2022 Passenger boarding bridges installed
Construction on the new terminal is underway. We are excited to unveil the finished project.
April 2022, Members of the public were given guided tours of the construction site, where they learned about the art that will be displayed and viewed renderings of what the terminal will look like when it is complete.
November 2021, to celebrate another mileston in the construction of the new terminal, a beam signing and topping ceremony was held.
Winter 2020, the standing committee on public art and commission on cultural affairs reviewed and made recommendations and selected artist, David Griggs and Chris Morrey.
November 2020, a groundbreaking was held for the new terminal.
June 2020, Nabholz construction was awarded the construction contract.
