Columbia Regional Airport Maintenance
The Columbia Regional Airport Maintenance Department is a dedicated team of employees tasked with airfield, facility, and grounds maintenance at Columbia Regional. The Maintenance Department is an essential part of airport operations, keeping Columbia Regional safe and attractive.
Our maintenance staff is comprised of five full time and one part-time skilled tradesmen. Maintenance personnel are responsible for mowing hundreds of acres of airport property, building facilities maintenance, airfield lighting and airfield equipment maintenance, along with snow and ice removal. Through proper maintenance techniques, the Maintenance Department is able to meet or exceed the requirements of CFR Part 139 Certifications of Airports as set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
One of our maintenance personnel is dedicated solely to the responsibility of Terminal Facility Services. This includes custodial services, general building maintenance, and the Airport Recycling Program. Not an easy task with a 50 year old building.
Some of the most challenging tasks for the Maintenance Department occur during winter operations. With state of the art equipment and chemical deicers, staff work in harsh weather conditions at all hours of the day and night to keep runways, taxiways, aircraft operation areas, roadways and sidewalks clear of ice and snow for safe aircraft and passenger movements.
The Maintenance Department is committed to the City of Columbia’s Core Values initiative by providing the highest level of customer service to everyone who visits Columbia Regional Airport.
